Interview with Malique Jacobs
Q: How was the experience for you here at the Hoops & Dreams Showcase?
Malique: It feels good, it’s the first game of the year for us , we came late so we came straight off the van and had about 5 minutes to warm up , coach told us to get our minds right and we played well.
Q: So what happened with the travel situation for you guys?
Malique: We ran into some traffic but we also got off at the wrong exit, so that pushed our time back.
Q: You’ve always been known as a person that can score the ball since I first saw you play , now you’re running some PG, is that something that you wanted to add to your game?
Malique: Yes, I had to work on perfecting my ball handling skills right, when I first got to Bully City Prep my ball handling skills weren’t that great so coach had me working on that all summer as well as my outside shot.
Q: What’s something that you can add to your game that will help you on the next level?
Malique: Being more active and vocal, rebounding more, just being a better player all-around.
Q: How has being at Bull City been for you?
Malique: The main difference has been the level of talent, everybody can dribble, shot and is athletic.
Q: What schools have been hitting you up as of late?
Malique: Eastern Florida, West Palm Beach State and a few others.
Q: What’s something that you can take from the win you guys got today against a pretty solid team?
Malique: We have to run back on defense, we work hard in practice but with everybody has to get in shape so we have to work even harder. More 6am workouts, we just have to be more active and get in everybody on the squad in top shape.
