Stock Riser Report: Audiese Toney
It’s always interesting to see how the stock of a player can rise or decline in such a short period of time, we have seen players go from a recruit that’s barely known to a player getting a high amount of offers in just a week. Well Trinity Christian 2019 Guard Audiese Toney took more than a week to get his offers but his time has come and his stock is clearly on the rise.
Toney came to Fayetteville last year and after a season at Northwood Temple Academy he made the move to Trinity Christian to team up with Joey Baker and Greg Gantt as well playing alongside Guard Talton Jones and KJ Marshall which basically makes Trinity’s entire Starting 5 class of 2019 players. This not only benefits Audiese from a chemistry prospective but also from a recruiting aspect as now coaches that are looking for 2019s can come to Trinity and see 5 D1 prospects on one team.
What makes him special? His versatility is one of the more impressive attributes about him, at 6’6 with a long wingspan and a nice skillset, he is one that you can see the potential in as soon as you watch him play. He can defend multiple positions defensively, can play on or off the ball and is a perfect fit for this day in age of ‘‘position less basketball’’.
What schools are on him so far? Well recently Virginia Tech and VCU both offered, he also holds offers from: Western Carolina, Appalachian State, Hampton, Charlotte, UAB and others while getting interest from numerous high major programs. As Head Coach Heath Vandevender told us ‘‘The Sky is the limit for him and there will be even more schools on him as time goes on.’’ Coming from a coach that has coached players like: Dennis Smith Jr, Zo Tyson, Kwe Parker and many more, that you should tell you all you need to know.
