Season Preview: New Hanover HS
New Hanover is a program with rich basketball tradition, they have competed at a very high level over the years and had players like Ty Walker (Wake Forest) & Kadeem Allen (Arizona) come through before moving on to higher levels. The team this year has a very nice amount of talent and although they will be missing a few pieces at the start of the season, we fully expect them to be a dangerous group when their entire team is together.
New Hanover Senior Forward C Josh Aldrich: At 6’7 he’s a versatile player that can score but also rebound the ball very well and at a high rate. He has the ability to finish inside well and gets his offense within the flow of the team offense, overall is a very intriguing prospect for school to keep an eye on.
New Hanover 2018 Wing Ramello Williams: Has a nice natural ability to score the ball from inside and midrange, has decent athletic ability and a pretty solid frame. Brings the same amount of effort on the defensive end of the floor as he does offensively, we can expect a very productive year from this young man.
New Hanover 2018 F/C Hayden Egar: His game doesn’t necessarily scream at you but he’s a very productive player that could be beneficial for quite a few programs at the next level. Has a long lanky frame and a soft touch around the basket, 6’6 with long arms, D2/D3 programs should be on him without a doubt.
New Hanover 2018 PG Freddie Taylor: One of the quickest guards and best ball handlers around, he does a great job of getting teams into their sets. On the defensive end of the floor he’s constantly applying pressure and forcing bad shots or turnovers. His jumper is much improved now and he’s knocking down shots with consistency and confidence.
