Recruiting Report: Dandrick Green (2019)
Louisiana’s 50th-ranked 2019, 5-foot-8 point guard Dandrick Green is ready to showcase himself with a new team, and hopes a big winter will jump-start his recruitment.
Green has transferred from Salmen back to McDonough 35, where he played his freshman season. And though his recruitment has been slow, some stability and success with the Roneagles could go a long way with his currently stagnant recruitment.
“This summer Xavier asked about me, but they haven’t called or anything though. So far, that’s it,” said Green.
“I’m really looking forward to getting as many offers as possible over the next two years. I know it’s not easy, but I‘m working.”
Green was a standout this summer for NOLA 23, and mentioned to PHLA what his strengths are as a player, and what he’s been working to improve.
“My IQ is very high, and my vision on the court. I like to make people around me better; I’m a pass-first guard,” he said.
“There’s a lot of things I really want to work on, mainly my size, because I’m really small right now. But my jumper too, that needs to get better, and my speed,”
Green reflected on his spring and summer with NOLA 23 16U.
“It was fun playing with them, there was a lot of stuff I learned,” said Green. “We had a lot of great players, and I’m looking forward to things being even better next summer.”
After transferring back to McDonough 35 from Salmen, Green won’t be able to play until January. He’ll be eager and ready come 2018.
“I was with McDonough 35 my freshman year, but I moved my sophomore year. Now, I moved back to the city so I’m going back to McDonough 35,” said Green.
“I’m going to have to work my way in, and I’m just looking forward to playing.”
