Northwestern Foothills 2-A Preview
East Burke High School-Losing scorers Caleb Wright and Devin Sechrist is going to be hard to overcome. Last seasons 8-18 mark will be closer to the mark again this season. Returning for East Burke is not a lot of scoring and not a lot of rebounding. This will be a rebuilding year for East Burke and having some new players up from JV will only help.
Draughn High School-A record of 14-12 last season had a lot to do with what is returning again this season. 6-foot-5 2019 prospects Jeremiah Daye is back along with his 13.8 points and nearly 6 rebounds per game. Also returning is senior big man Bryson Price, a 6-foot-9 center who averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds this past season. Draughn will be one of the bigger teams in the conference and look for that to make a big impact down the line.
Hibriten High School-Gone off of last seasons team is Lincoln Memorial University freshman Anderson Keller. The good news is that his brother, 2020 Avery Keller is back. The younger Keller averaged 8 points and right around 5 rebounds per game last season.
Bunker Hill High School-Finishing 2-23 last season, Bunker Hill does not return much of a scoring weapon and this is a rebuilding year for Lee Swanson and the crew.
Foard High School–Caleb Schmidt is the returning scoring guard for Foard. He averaged 16.1 points per game last season and is a legitimate threat to light it up any given night. Also returning is 6-foot-1 Aqui Thompson who as a junior averaged nearly 7 points per game.
Patton High School-5-foot-10 guard Tripp Causby is a retuning double-digit scorer for Patton. Causby dished out 4.7 assists to go along with his 13 points per game output. Also returning is senior Cody Davis who averaged just under 8 points per game for a team that finished 13-14 overall last season.
West Iredell High School-The bright spot on a team that finished 2-22 last season is Hayden Blohm, a 5-foot-10 guard who averaged 15.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last season.
