Clinton HS Team Preview
Clinton HS had a very successful season last year, finishing with a record of 27-3 and eventually losing to the State Champions in the Regional Semi-Finals. Clinton returns a nice amount of talent but lose Guard Jeremiah Pope who is beginning his freshman year at Fayetteville State. However with the amount of talent that the squad has returning, they shouldn’t have too much difficulty of finding a way to make up for the production that they lost.
Game to Watch: Their rematch with Northside HS will take place early in the season as they will be matched up with the Monarchs of Northside on December 14th.
Clinton HS 2018 Wing Dewan Lesane: D2 programs should be all over this youngster, although he is one that we would consider a player that doesn’t have a defined position yet, he is without a doubt a player that can play on the next level. Throughout the times that I’ve seen him play, he showed two of his best attributes: energy, to make the plays needed, and athletic ability, by finishing over defenders with ease.
2018 F/C Trevor Leggett: He’s somewhat raw but has a nice set of potential, he has a slender frame but at 6’7 with a soft touch, he’s a player that is intriguing. His wingspan is a decent size and it was interesting to see his IQ in pick and roll situations, he can shoot the deep ball and wasn’t bad finishing inside.
2018 Guard Kris Williams: Kris is a problem!!!! College coaches should be keeping a very close eye on this young man without a doubt, he has a very mature game and a natural ability to score the ball. He shots the ball from three point land very consistently and uses his upper body to finish inside the paint and around the rim. He’s also a gifted passer, which shows with the amount of assist he comes up with finding teammates in the right spots
