Brunswick CC Standout players
Although this isn’t technically a high school squad, the freshman and sophomore from this squad will be players that college coaches of multiple levels will need to see.
Brunswick CC Frosh PG A.J Baldwin– A.J is a pass first player but showed that he could score the ball throughout the time he played. He went down with an injury about halfway through the game but should make a full recovery, plays the game with a lot of toughness and is a tremendous passer.
Brunswick CC Frosh Wing Omari Wilson– Still getting comfortable at the college but showed some flashes of how good he can possibly be. Showed athletic ability as well as the ability to guard multiple positions, nice upper body strength and a solid midrange game.
Brunswick CC Soph Wing Devin Hutchinson– At 6’5 with guard skills, he is one that will catch your eye almost immediately. He recently picked up a D1 offer and will have quite a few more before it’s all said and done, gifted scorer.
Brunswick CC Soph Wing Myquan Gooding- Has a nice long wingspan and the ability to score in bunches, will need to add some more muscle to his frame but is an intriguing prospect.
Brunswick CC Frosh Forward Josh Woodard– Solid height and frame for a forward, battles well inside with bigger opponents. Rebounds it well and has active but soft hands in the paint and around the basket which allows him to finish well.
Brunswick CC Frosh Guard Mike Melvin– You may remember Melvin from his time at Cape Fear Christian Academy, he is a very quick guard that keeps defenders guessing, He doesn’t have a ton of height but does a good job of using his speed against taller players.
Brunswick CC Frosh Forward Najee Thomas– Najee will be a project player for the staff over the next two years, he has the potential to play but is still working on perfecting things. Has good height at 6’9 as well as athletic ability.
