Utah Top Passers
Utah is known for shooting and high IQ players. Below are some of the top passers in the state. Further, a couple of these prospects are under the radar prospects who are good passers and should be on everyone’s watch list. Without further ado, here is our list of ten of the top passers in the state.
Top Passers
Steven Ashworth PG Lone Peak
Ashworth is one of the top point guards in the state. He returns to Lone Peak and will be apart of one of the best backcourts in the state as well. He is capable scorer and shooter. However, he does a great job of letting the game flow and come to him. He gets his teammates involved in the right spots and makes the right reads. Ashworth is one of the top passers in the state and will have a break out season.
Trey Barney 5’11 PG 2018 Panguitch
Barney is one of the most skilled guards in all of 1A. His attention to detail and ability to manage the offense is huge in the success of this team. Barney’s passing abilities make his teammates better. Keep an eye on him and Panguitch this season as they should have a good group.
Rylan Jones 6’0 PG 2019 Olympus
Jones, the recent Utah committee, is one of the best all around players in the entire state. In addition to being able to score the ball at a high rate, he does an excellent job of making others around him play better. He puts them in good spots where they are capable of making plays. Further, he makes great reads.
Brock Gilbert 5’9 PG 2018 Syracuse
Gilbert will be a huge piece for Syracuse this year much like he was last year. Not only is he a solid passer, but he led the team in scoring as well as steals. The do it all guard for Syracuse will need to continue that mentality if Syracuse is going to continue their winning ways in this upcoming season.
Casey Brown 6’0 PG 2019 Pleasant Grove
Pleasant Grove is one of the top teams in 6A. Brown is a great floor general who does not over dribble and gets his talented teammates involved. His high IQ and pass first guard mentality sets the tone for the rest of the team. Brown will have a big part in the success of the group in this upcoming season.
Brady Hall 5’11 PG 2019 Mountain Crest
Brady Hall is a skill two sport athlete who runs the show in football as well as in basketball. His hustle and toughness make him a natural leader in both realms. However, his shooting, ability to finish at the rim, and passing make him a handful for opposing teams. Hall is a skilled point guard with good court vision.
Andre Mulibea 6’3 PG 2020 East
Despite only being a Freshman last year, Mulibea demonstrated that he can be quite effective at the varsity level. In addition to averaging nearly one three pointer per game, he showed that he can shoot the basketball at a high rate. His size and shooting ability make him a very promising prospect going forward.
Matt Morton 5’11 PG 2018 St. Joseph
Morton is a do it all prospect out of St. Joseph. He led the team in scoring as well as assists with some numbers that were quite impressive. His ability to make plays for himself and his teammates in an array of ways makes him one of the top prospects in all of 2A.
Zachary Wilson 6’3 PG 2018 Corner Canyon
Wilson is a walking double-double, and at times, triple double threat. He is a pass first guard who can shoot the heck out of it and gets on the glass. Wilson does all of the little things and brings a good feel for dishing the basketball once the help side commits. I expect a big season for Wilson.
Brodee Tebbs 5’10 PG 2018 South Sevier
Tebbs has a really solid group at South Sevier. This makes his job easier as he hits ahead and puts guys in situations where they can make plays. However, his selfless mentality and fill for the game is crucial to the success of his teammates and this group. He manages the game well and knows how to pick his spots for himself and his teammates.
