Trinity Christian School College Day Recap: Part 1
On Monday afternoon Trinity Christian had its ‘‘ College Day’’ which occurs once a year where Trinity Christian allows college coaches to all come in at once and watch their prospects. This year schools such as: Louisville, UCLA, NC State, Mizzou, Wake Forest and many more all showed up to check out the high amount of talent. Below are the players that stood out to us and the players that colleges should keep a close eye on.
2019 Wing Joey Baker: Just about every top program that was in attendance was there to see this young man, he shot the ball from deep, made plays above the rim and showed good aggressiveness throughout. Expect a bigtime season from Joey as he is now one of the leaders of this team that features a large amount of youth, UCLA, Michigan, Louisville, NC State and Texas all were in to see him.
2019 Forward Greg Gantt: Greg has nice versatility and you can see that he has spent a good amount of time working on his body. He rebounded the ball well and even though his shot didn’t fall, you can see he has put in the time to work on it as his mechanics looked great. The key for Greg will be to be consistent throughout and be able to provide the scoring to take pressure off Baker, App State and Western Carolina both extended offers following the open gym.
2019 Guard Talton Jones: Talton is one of the passers around and Monday was no different than normal, he made difficult passes look easy and scored the ball at a nice rate. He has decent size for a college PG and is working on his mechanics as his shot continues to improve. Following the workout he picked up an offer from Western Carolina University and interest from other D1 programs.
