Tony’s Top Seven
Manuel Brown Jr. – 6’1” | G | Scecina Memorial High School | Class of 2019
Manuel Brown Jr. was dominant throughout the expo. He looked comfortable handling the ball under pressure and getting to open spots on the floor. Manuel knocked down the long ball with consistency and showed that his court awareness is increasing. He made some great passes and rebounded the ball at an elite level. Brown’s athleticism was on display in the open floor and he finished at the rim with strength.
Chaz Birchfield – 6’4” | W/F | Hamilton Southeastern High School | Class of 2018
Chaz Birchfield was one of the best players attacking the basket off the bounce from the wing and in transition on Saturday. Birchfield had multiple instances of finishing above the rim off one and two feet in traffic and in the open. He rose up and made some tough jumpers in the fifteen foot range. Chaz’s ball skills are improving which helped him out on the perimeter. He rebounded the ball with the best of them and was great at getting out and filling lanes.
Noah Applegate – 6’6” | W/F | Penn High School | Class of 2019
Noah Applegate may have been the most well-rounded scorer at the expo. He shot the ball at a high rate from the perimeter, finished around the rim off the bounce, and showed off his increasing athleticism with some highlight reel dunks. Applegate had it all going early and didn’t face anyone throughout the day that could stop him from getting what he wanted. His decision making on the move is improving and his ceiling is quickly increasing.
Marquise Kennedy – 6’1” | G | Brother Rice High School (IL) | Class of 2019
Marquise Kennedy made a few big plays early on and never looked back. The athletic guard finished at the rim over the defense and stepped back behind the line and knocked down three after three. He has the ability to take over the game on both ends of the floor and showcased his tenacious mentality on the defensive end. Kennedy took it to every team at the expo and did it a dominating way. His length was bothersome on the defensive end and he broke down his defender with the dribble to get easy opportunities at the basket.
Cobie Barnes – 6’6” | W | Floyd Central High School | Class of 2019
Cobie Barnes scored the ball at all three levels with regularity at the expo on Saturday. His jump shot is improving day by day and he looks more comfortable shooting it off the dribble. His footwork is improving which allowed him to explode by his defender with a quick first step. He rotated correctly on defense which lead to steals and deflections. Barnes is electric in the open floor and had a flurry of finishes above the rim that ignited the gym.
Isaac Farnsworth – 6’2” | G | Fort Wayne Snider High School | Class of 2020
Isaac Farnsworth brought energy and communication from the get go. His talk and effort was contagious. Farnsworth has added length and strength to his frame. Isaac can fill it up from deep off the drive and kick but has shown his ability to get to the basket and finish through contact. He rebounded the ball at an elite level for a guard and really lead his team on and off the court. Isaac will be a great asset for Fort Wayne Snider this season on the wing.
Edreece Redmond – 6’0” | G | Bishop Chatard High School | Class of 2020
Edreece Redmond was one of the best underclassmen guards to attend the expo on Saturday. His ball handling is one of his best attributes and he made some great passes on the break. He is getting better in the half court at making passes off the pick-and-roll action. His court vision is getting better and as he adds strength to his long frame, he will have more success finishing at the basket around the bigs.
