Top 250 Expo: 2021 First Team
The players who participated in the Top 250 Expo at Pickerington North High School on Saturday all left it on the floor! During 5-on-5 and skill development, everyone involved pushed each other — creating a basketball environment that allowed prospects to grow.
As always, certain players stuck out amongst the crowd of 170+ participants. So, it’s only right that we recognize the top five performers in each class during our first day of recap coverage.
Anthony Garcia’s 2021 First Team
MVP: Dajuan Allen, 5’11” G, Stivers
Austin Webb, 6’1” G, South Point
Marcus Stewart, 6’2” G, Wellington
Tyler Bush, 6’3” W, Ryle
Jalen Dial, 5’10” PG, Brush
Allen’s athleticism was too much to handle for pretty much anyone during 5-on-5 play (note that they also played with the 2020 prospects). He plays down-hill in transition and can subtly change directions just before he leaps towards the rim for a layup attempt. In the air, Allen has exceptional body control and is able to hang in the air longer than most. Once he’s able to recognize a bad shot from a good shot, Allen will be really tough.
Tony Peters’ 2021 First Team
Austin Webb, 6’1” G, SOuth Point
Marcus Stewart, 6’2” G, Wellington
Jalen Dial, 5’10” G, Brush
Webb was a smooth finisher, especially in traffic. He did a great job feeding the bigs and found ways to rack up assists. Stewart was another pass first guard that picked up great assists all day. Dial had strong offensive showing whether it was under the basket or in the midrange.
