Top Returning players:
G Tai Giger – Senior, 6’0″ – CAA All Conference, led team in scoring last year. A strong Point Guard, with great court vision who has been receiving Low D1 and D2 interest. He has a strong built upper body that allows him to absorb contact when getting to the basket.
G/F D’Angelo Elliot – Junior, 6’4″
Elliot is a long and athletic wing that should provide a boost in the scoring column for The Wildcats. He is an above average shooter from the three-point line and has long arms to disrupt the passing lanes.
PG Lee Langstaff- Sophomore, 6’3″
Langstaff has good size at 6-foot-2 for the guard position, he is muscular and has long arms. He does a really good job handling the ball and not making turnovers. He can knock down the set shot or beat you off the dribble and get into the lane or hit the pull-up jumper. He has good court awareness and can find the open man while pushing the ball in transition or off the half-court set. He is a strong defender with long arms that can get into the passing lanes and also keep you from going by him. He can consistently step out behind the three-point line and knock down shots.
SG Devin Elliott-Junior, 6’1″
Elliott is a good scorer and is getting better every time I see him. He has good size and has a nice basketball body for the next level. He understands the game and is a good defender. He is an under-rated defender who can lock down when the time comes.
SG Navante Johnson-Junior, 6’2
Johnson is a long and athletic guard for The Wildcats. Johnson can create his own shot off the dribble, consistently shoot from deep, he is quick in the open floor, he is an above average passer, he can get rebounds and does a little bit of everything to make sure his team can win. Johnson trains with John Williams of John Williams Basketball Training. John is a former UNC-Asheville star and spent time overseas and playing with the Harlem Globetrotters.
The Wildcats play in the Carolina’s Athletic Association. The CAA conference includes perennial powerhouse Christ School along with Asheville Christian Academy, Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School, and Asheville School. The conference regular season and Tournament should come down to Christ School and Carolina Day School.
