Recruiting Report: Zeke Nnaji (2019)
When the national Prep Hoops 250 for the 2020 class is released you can expect to see the name Ben Carlson on that list. The East Ridge big has recently taken college visits.
Carlson scored nearly a dozen a game for the Raptors as a freshman and then was one of the key figures on the D1 Minnesota 15u team that ranked with the best in the nation all spring and summer.
Carlson has taken a couple visits including to Wisconsin and Kansas State. The latest was in Manhattan and Carlson told Kansas State 247 he really enjoyed the experience.
“I liked (campus) a lot,” Ben explained. “I like how they built the campus and all of the different buildings on campus. The basketball facilities were incredible. The fans are great, too.
“I noticed that the student section was full for the volleyball game on Thursday and same with football.”
The K-State program is one that Ben has had his eye on because his sister goes to school there.
“I think that’d be really cool for us to be in the same place,” Ben said. “We could hang out a lot and I’d have someone that I knew right away, which would be nice to have.”
Carlson has been to a basketball at K-State previously.
“I think it could be a good fit,” Carlson said. “I went to basketball game last year, the Baylor game, it was absolutely crazy. They always have a great team, a really fun atmosphere, and it could be a great fit.”
Iowa State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Wisconsin are the programs talking to Carlson the most at the present time.
“My recruitment isn’t really crazy right now because I don’t even have any official offers yet, but I’m having a lot of fun. It’s awesome to go to different schools and see what they have offer.”
