Prospect Spotlight: Pavle Pantovic (2019)
DePaul Prep 2019 power forward Pavle Pantovic stands at 6’6” with a good frame. During July Pantovic was in the best shape of his young career. He fights hard in the paint against bigger and sometimes more athletic posts. His grit and tenacity shines through. Also flashes nice moves in the paint with his quickness and a sweet hook shot.
“I feel like my game comes off my athleticism and strength so I feel if I can be quicker and am in better condition I can play harder, stronger, and faster the entire game.”
How did it go with the Wolves?
“We finished in LA strong back in the spring. We went 4-0 there. We went to Atlanta and lost three games there. I felt we could have won the three. We beat two really good teams with All Ohio Red by 20 and a DC team in the UAA. Every team in the UAA is tough to beat. I think I am doing well. I could do better. I am playing well. I am defending. I like it when teams don’t score on us. The offense comes when the team needs me to score. I will get a layup here and there, but I am mostly focused on defending and doing what the team needs me to do.”
In June he got back together with his boys at DePaul Prep after many of them played at various levels for the Wolves on the circuit.
“It went really well. We didn’t lose many games. It was nice seeing the whole team again. I think we are looking good. It is going to be an exciting season for us.”
They have big goals for this season!
“We have big expectations. Our goal ever since Perry (Cowan) and I have been freshman is to win state. We are trying to make it happen.”
Anything going on with recruiting?
“I have gotten some texts from Western Illinois, but that is about it.”
