Preseason All-Conference: Twin Lakes
Player of the Year: 2018 Carson Kruger, Alta-Aurelia
A stat sheet stuffer, Kruger was one of the leader’s for an Alta-Aurelia team that was among the most successful in 1A last year, winning 21 games. He led the Warriors in rebounding, assists, steals and blocks, and was second in scoring, just .3 points a game behind the graduated Ryan Radke.
First Team
2018 Carson Kruger, Alta-Aurelia (14.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.7 steals, 55.7 FG%)
A highly talented lead guard, Kruger is a big-time stat sheet stuffer who is capable of leading the league in scoring and rebounding this season, while still distributing for his Warriors team that should be very good again this season.
2020 Bryce Coppock, Newell-Fonda (16.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists)
One of the state’s most successful freshmen last year, Coppock is back and ready to have a huge sophomore season for a Newell-Fonda team that should be among the most improved teams in 1A, and a real threat to win the league crown. He led the team in scoring and assists last season.
2019 Jace Davidson, Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon (13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists)
Following the graudation of Austin Roetman, Davidson is going to be asked to score a lot more than year for the Indians, a role he should fill comfortably. A talented ball handler, he thrives on his ability to get into the paint and either score or distribute to his teammates.
2018 Jacob Conlon, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (15.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.6 steals)
The 6-1 wing led G-T/R-A in scoring, assists and steals last season, while finishing third in rebounding. He’s a talented stat sheet stuffer that has the size to be a major mismatch with the ball in his hands in this league.
2019 Tom Geelan, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayshire (15.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 48.0 FG%)
Geelan pairs with Conlon to gives the Titans the best one-two punch in the division. A talented player who can score in bunches, he’ll have a great junior year for a G-T/R-A team that will be among the best in the conference.
