Prep Hoops Kansas Top 250 Expo: 2018 Guards
Here is a look at the top Class of 2018 guards from last weekend’s Prep Hoops Kansas Top 250 Expo in Kansas City:
2018 Guards
Kelyn Bolton, 6’1, PG, 2018, Shawnee Mission East (Kan.)
Bolton is one of the more underrated guards in the Kansas City area. He is a heady point guard with the ability to get to the basket, shoot from the outside and find the open man. He is part of a talented returning ground at Shawnee Mission East that enters the season with high expectations.
Dasani Giardina, 5’11, PG/SG, 2018, Highland Park (Kan.)
(PICTURED) Giardina is a tough-as-nails guard from Topeka Highland Park who can shoot it from the perimeter and plays with good leadership and poise. Really competed at a high level throughout the day and doesn’t back down from a battle.
Javon Reliford, 5’11, FG, 2018, Labette County (Kan.)
Kid has some game, can really shoot it and gets to the bucket well. Shoots it well from range, well beyond the 3-point arc. Shows terrific confidence in his ability and plays with a calm, cool demeanor. Not very big, probably needs to work a little on transitioning from the 2 to the point a little more as he kind of deferred to others to bring the ball up the court.
Raymond Swopes, 6’1, G, 2018, Washburn Rural
Athletic guard that can shoot off the bounce or get to the bucket, Swopes is a terrific competitor who is at his best creating offense for himself and his teammates.
Others
Malik Cherry, 6’1, G, 2018, St. Michael (Kan.)
Deron McDaniel, 6’1, G, 2018, Lee’s Summit (Mo.)
