News and Notes: End of Summer
With the summer coming to an end, many youngsters took the time between the end of AAU ball and the start of high school season to take some recruiting visits and even make college choices. Listed below are some of the players that have picked up interest and offers as well as the players that have committed to a college.
- Hoke County Senior Guard Point Guard Dakari Johnson is receiving interest from Western Carolina University, and WCU is planning to stop in and visit next week.
- Hoke County Senior Forward Silas Love is receiving strong interest from UNCP and interest from Garner Webb, Love took an unofficial to UNCP last weekend.
- Northwood Temple Senior Forward Manny Bates committed to NC State, choosing the Wolfpack over Georgetown.
- Detroit Western HS Senior Guard Anthony Roberts took an unofficial visit to Bryant University, he already holds an offer from Youngtown State.
- Wisconsin United Guard Tyrese Haliburton committed to Iowa State last week, Halliburton has schools such as Cincy, Nebraska and UNI all in the mix.
- Florida State & UConn were in this week to see Oak Hill Guard Josh Nickelberry.
- Freedom Christian Junior Guard Jamahri Harvey received an offer from Fayetteville State University.
- Senior Point Guard Jimmie Sanders III picked up an offer from St. Andrews University.
- Wake Forest is showing interest in Walkertown HS 2020 Guard Jalen Cone.
- Top prospect Immanuel Quickley has committed to the UK Wildcats.
- Charleston Southern is showing interest in Village Christian 2018 Guard Junub Chuol & 2019 Wing Khuath Gatkuoth.
- Wilson HS Senior Forward Jamonty Williams picked up an offer from Lees-Mcrae this week.
- Hoke County HS Senior Guard Jaleel Ray has interest from SC Upstate and Catawba.
- St. David’s & Team Wall Guard Kris Monroe committed to Providence.
- Greenfield School Guard Elijah McCadden committed to Georgia Southern.
- Gaston Day & Team Loaded Guard Nate Hinton committed to Houston, Hinton had nearly 30 offers to choose from, he blew up recruitment wise during the summer.
- West Forsyth HS Forward Ben Uloko picked up his 5th offer from Lees-Mcrae, holds LM and MM offers.
