Meet The Player: Charles Page
Q: What has the offseason been like for you personally and for the team?
Charles: Personally coming off of a losing season like last year, we didn’t have a lot of leadership, so this year with Coach Barco taking over, he’s been pushing me to be a leader. Whether it’s inside the gym or outside the gym he’s pushing me to do leadership things, as well as in the classroom. As a team everybody has been working hard, coming in as much as we can trying to get better.
Q: What’s the goals for the team this season, especially with so many young players?
Charles: Our goal is to turn around our season from how it was last year, first goal is for is to make the state tournament, playing together as a team and competing in the new conference that we are in. We feel like we can accomplish all the goals we have, we just have to keep the right mindset and everything will work out.
Q: What’s been the difference for you all with the new staff?
Charles: Practice is a lot more serious, no joking around or anything, everyone is coming in with the right mindset. It’s all about changing the culture, doing the small things.
Q: Playing at public school and private school, what do you feel the difference is?
Charles: I was in public school my freshman year so I really dint have the right mindset but once I got to Fayetteville Christian as a sophomore I was maturing and playing behind upperclassmen.
Q: What do you feel you can bring to this team as an upperclassmen?
Charles: Setting the tempo in the game whether it be offensively or on the defensive end of the court, talking on the court and things like that. The game of basketball is all about communicating
