Louisiana Class of 2020: Wings Breakdown
Shawn Royal 6’5 G/F Country Day
Royal ended last season as a 6’3 G, but after a monumental growth spurt, he will be starting this season as a 6’5 G/F tweener. He is good at getting to the rim, and is able to use his size to see over the top of the defense to see passing lanes that others can’t. Royal is also a knockdown shooter from the outside, and it is only a matter of time before colleges come around.
Justin Ibieta 6’5 F Country Day
Ibieta is another member of Country Day’s phenomenal 2020 class, and brings a lot a size and skills to the table. Ibieta has a thicker frame than Royal, and is able to finish around the rim at a high rate. He can also shoot well from deep, and is a really good ball handler for his size.
Ladamien Bradford 6’4 F Jonesboro Hodge
Bradford is a good ball handler for his size, and is able to bully defenders on the way to the paint. He can use his long frame to finish around the defense. He is also a willing passer, and was relied on to play point guard for LA Elite’s 15u team at times. He is also capable of using his athleticism and wingspan to protect the rim at a high rate.
Salle Wilson 6’4 G/F Dunham
Salle is another Dunham prospect with the size and the skills to play 1-4 in a high school game. Wilson is a strong passer, and is a good second option for his high school team. He finishes well around the rim, but outside of 15 feet still has room to work on his game. When locked in, he can be a menace on defense, and is able to get lots of steals, especially when trapping.
Reggie Gause 6’4 F Covington
Gause is a long, lanky prospect out of Covington. His skill set is short and sweet. He is an absolute knock down shooter from the outside. Whether it is from the wing or the corner, if you give him just a sliver of space, he is getting his shot off, and is able to use his length to shoot over the top of any shot contest.
