Overall Thoughts on Season:
Our Hoopers 17U was a group of talented and tough kids who competed every game. That was evident by close loses to EYBL teams Howard Pulley, Albany City Rocks, Boo Williams & PSA Cardinals. This group was the true definition of a “TEAM” who competed together for one common goal: to win.
Standout Performers
SF Zion Griffin (Hinsdale South): 24.7pts 9.8rebs 3.6blks 2.4stls. Zion had a breakout July where he erupted to average 30.3pts & 10.7rebs versus 6 EYBL teams and 28.3pts & 11.3rebs vs 3 Adidas and Under Armour sponsored teams. Zion’s emergence concluded with him garnering 21 offers including Kansas, Iowa St., Illinois, & Pittsburg among others.
2019 PG Tyler Cochran (Bolingbrook): 15.4pts 7.7rebs 5.8ast 3.6stls. Playing up an age group, the high IQ, tough and crafty PG showed his value and ability to impact every facet of the game. Tyler’s great July play earned him scholarship offers from UIC, Western Michigan & Tennessee State.
PG Cameron Blackmon (Joliet Central): 9.6pts 5.5ast 2.8stls. Cameron is a strong lead guard who often set the tone defensively. He brought stability and toughness to our team each and every game. Cameron has interest from multiple NAIA schools.
F Daniel Burfurd (Bolingbrook): 6.3pts 8.2rebs 4.7ast. “Glue Guy” as he was dubbed multiple media outlets and D1 coaches, was our teams quarterback and brought tremendous leadership and toughness. At 6’2, he defended the other team’s center and was rarely overpowered. He simply makes winning plays each and every play.

Overall Thoughts on Season
This group finished the season very strong going 4-1 at the KC Sunflower Showcase. There is a lot of unheralded talent on this team and they are primed for a great 17U campaign in 2018.
Standout Performers
G Anthony Thompson (Montini): 17.1pts 6.4rebs 2.3stls. Anthony is a tough, sweet shooting guard who is a great finisher around the basket. His ability to defend and rebound takes his game to another level.
G Ikenna Okeke (Bolingbrook): 12.3pts 6.2rebs. Ikenna finished the season playing with a lot of confidence. At 6’3, he showed his complete multidimensional game in Kansas City, by displaying his ability to score, finish, pass and defend.
G AJ Woods (Joliet West): 11.8pts 4.5rebs 2.1stls. The 6’3 guard played his best basketball of the season in Kansas City. He averaged 15 points while shooting 52% from three point range.

Overall Thoughts on Season
This young group featured 3 class of 2021 players who grew throughout the season and played very well. Hoopers Basketball Club is excited about the future of this team.
Standout Performers
G Darius Burford (Bolingbrook): 21.4pts 5.7rebs 4.6ast 3.3stls. Darius is a tough, scoring lead guard who does what is necessary to win. He finishes well around the basket and makes plays all over the court with his IQ and effort.
2021 PG Isaiah Stafford (Bolingbrook): 9.6pts 5.3ast. Playing up an age group, Isaiah showed he was ready to not just play, but compete at the 15U level. His IQ and his ability to make plays was a huge asset to the team.
G Tremont Brewer: 12.3pts 6.1rebs. Tremont is an extremely physical guard who has a great motor. He plays hard every minute he’s on the floor and contributes whatever the team needs.
