CP3 Rising Stars Camp Top Prospects
6’ Guard Brayon Freeman: A crafty guard that can handle the ball, score it, and facilitate well, he has nice acceleration and can get to his spots pretty easily. Causes issues for opponents on the defensive end of the floor due to his lateral quickness and quick hands. The matchup he had against Jackie Johnson was a fun matchup to watch without a doubt.
Guard Redford Dunton: Dunton has a lot of the tools to be a special player, he already has nice height for a guard player even though he’s only going into his freshman season. During this camp and especially in the top 40 game, he did a good job of moving without the ball constantly, rebounding and playing within the flow of the game. Can shoot it from deep, put the ball on the floor and is aggressive but always seems as if he’s under control.
6’3 Guard Devin Askew: Love the way he uses shots fakes and jab steps to create the space for himself against his defender. Has a smooth stroke that was on full display and a nice long wingspan, very nice looking player and prospect overall.
5’10 Guard Jackie Johnson: The lefty guard has a very nice motor and is quick with the ball in his hands, when he gets it and attacks, the defense becomes very vulnerable due to the speed he possess. He showed that he’s not just an up-tempo and transition player, and performed well in the half court, reading the defense and knocking down open shots.
6’4 Wing Kendal Brown: Has a long and lean build with the versatility that you love to see from a player of his age. He can play on the wing but is very comfortable with the ball in his hands and showed his talent of being able to get into the gaps of the defense and finish very well.
