Commitment Report: Jaeden King (2019) to Augustana
Cretin-Derham Hall 2019 shooter Jaeden King took another visit to Augustana recently and this time he was convinced.
Shortly after the trip King tweeted out that he had committed to the Augustana program.
“I felt like committing because I’ve never felt so much love come from a school,” King said. “They came to every single one of my AAU games. Looking in the crowd and seeing that their whole staff was there to watch me just made me realize what I mean to them.
“I have a very good relationship with the coaches. Everyone might have a thought in there mind ‘why at this time, you have so much more time’ but my thing is I already knew what I wanted to do and that was to be a Viking.”
King’s parents went to Augustana with Jaeden and they are also excited for his future as a Viking.
“My parents love the school and my brothers do too. For me everything is about relationships and they (the coaches) showed that they would be there for me through thick and thin.
“So when I was on my unofficial visit two days ago I realized this and I also realized that this is were I belong.”
For King everything was about the coaching staff and the success the program has had under them.
“Their love for their players and how supportive they are stood out,” said King. “They are amazing coaches. They told me that I could walk into their office whenever and talk to them about anything, about basketball or about my personal life.
“They care about me a lot and I’m not even at the school yet so it just shows that they are really good people and coaches.”
King started for CDH last year and scored ten points per game.
