Class of 2019 PG Sleepers
It is still early in the process, but we have identified some prospects that could be sleepers beyond the names that are most commonly known at the point guard position in 2019.
PG Jack McDonald (Geneva)
McDonald is a lead guard that can really pass the rock with a feel for the game. Already set the single season record for assists at Geneva. Followed that up with a strong circuit playing up on the 17U level with Mercury Elite.
PG Zach Toussaint (Johnsburg)
Toussaint is a fun player to watch. Lacks ideal size for the college level, but this kid plays with a lot of flair passing the ball and has deep range on his perimeter shot.
PG Treavon Brown (West Aurora)
Brown is a speedy point guard that really pushes it in transition. Ideal player at the D2 level with his size and ability to get past defenders in the open floor.
PG Treye Tucker (Harlem)
Flashy point guard that has range on his shot and is coming off another strong campaign with Team RWA. Fun player to watch him control a game.
PG JR Cison (Lake Zurich)
Cison is a tough and gritty lead guard that has a high basketball IQ. Runs a team, works well in sets, and can hit a mid-range jumper. New high school for Cison this year at Lake Zurich. He has been productive where ever he plays.
PG Eric Cannon (Waubonsie Valley)
Cannon is a steady point guard that doesn’t wow you with his athleticism, but makes quality decisions with the ball. Can hit an open jumper and is a pesky on ball defender.
PG Nolan Niego (Lyons)
Niego is a gritty leader at the lead guard spot. He knows how to run a team, get others involved, and can hit jumpers.
PG Malik Tidwell (Marian Catholic)
Tidwell is a strong and compact point guard that is best as a spot up shooter from the perimeter. Should have a big season at Marian!
