Breakout Players to Watch For in the 2017/2018 Season
Northern Guilford Guard Andy Pack (C/O 18, 6’4)- He can score the ball well as he averaged 19 PPG throughout his junior season and had multiple big time games during the summer. At 6’4 he has good height for a college level wing and also has a pretty solid frame.
United Faith Christian Guard Rafael Jenkins (C/O 18, 6’) – He plays the game with a chip on his shoulder and doesn’t back down from any challenge. He can run a team both also can take over a game with his scoring and the ability to force opponents into turnovers which leads to transition buckets. He has picked up interest from numerous D1 programs, and will be a very nice pickup for a college program.
Trinity Christian Guard Talton Jones (C/O 19, 6’1) – His recruitment is beginning to heat up, and we can say that it’s been a long time coming. He understands how the PG position is supposed to be ran, he can score the ball but looks to get all of his teammates going before he finds his own offense. On the defensive end of the floor he is constantly applying pressure and forcing turnovers, recently took a visit to Longwood.
Elevation Prep Academy Guard Devian Smith (C/O 19, 5’10) – He has a game and physique that definitely will leave you impressed after only watching him for a short amount of time. He can finish inside the paint over taller opponents and has speed to keep up with guards of all size, he doesn’t allow himself to get sped up at all.
Fayetteville Academy Forward/Center Emmanuel Izunabor (C/O 19, 6’7) – Emmanuel is still under the radar at this point, however slowly but surely he is grasping the attention of smaller schools. He rebounds and blocks shots, runs the floor and is finishing above the rim stronger than he has before, when he stays locked in, he can be a special prospect.
