New Sharife in Town: Sharife Cooper (PC: John Lopez)
The AOT Running Rebels 16U team has one of the most promising 2020 point guards in the southeast with 2020 Sharife Cooper who plays out of McEachern High School in Georgia. He will look to help McEachern High School to a state title this winter. Cooper plays with maturity and composure that you don’t see for a kid about to start his sophomore year of high school. He recently picked up a offer from Clemson University after his play in July. He also holds offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, NC State and Georgia Tech among others. Cooper is one of the top point guards in the state of Georgia regardless of class. PrepHoopsNC’s Justin Byerly caught up with the floor-general to discuss his summer and his recruitment.
Justin Byerly: How has your July been from a recruiting standpoint?
Sharife Cooper: What’s up Justin, my july has been great learned a lot and had fun playing. I received a couple l offers so recruiting it’s all I could ask for knowing my name is starting to get out there.
Justin Byerly: What new schools have offered or do you feel like are close to offering?
Sharife Cooper: Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Texas A&M , and Clemson are the most recent. I don’t necessarily know which ones are close to offering but that’s something I can’t control i will just have to keep working and the rest will come naturally.
Justin Byerly: What have you improved on the most since your last high school game?
Sharife Cooper: I feel as if I improved my decision making, getting physically stronger as well as mentally and keeping my composure no matter what happens throughout the game. from the dribbling and shooting part of the game I work on that everyday.
The future is bright for this young prospect and plenty more college attention is coming his way.
