New Greenie: Jalen Lecque
The updated 2019 PrepHoops NC rankings will be coming out over the next couple of weeks and there will surely be some movement involved in them. Bronx native Jalen Lecque arrived on campus this week at Christ School in Arden, North Carolina.

This spring and summer, Lecque had one of the best showings of any player nationally on the Nike EYBL circuit session in Hampton and strong this weekend in Indianapolis. VCU, Santa Clara, Saint Louis and Iona were the schools that were on Lecque the most before his breakout. After, then the names such as Miami, Syracuse, Wake Forest and other high-majors jumped on board.

“I always considered myself as a high-major (player),” Lecque said. “I just had to prove it to everybody. I was hiding in the shadows. Now I’m showing everyone what I’m made of.” Lecque is now ranked by most scouting services as a top-20 player nationally in the 2019 class. He is one of the most athletic players in the class. He is a high-flyer and can finish plays at the rim. He is known for his highlight dunks in traffic and his leaping ability.
WHAT IS NEXT
Lecque will play a national schedule at Christ School against some of the best competition in the country. He will go up against other players that have Division One offers in practice everyday and only get better. He I coached at Christ School by a proven winner, Scott Willard who has sent a handful of players to the League and overseas playing professionally.
