NCISAA Dynamic Duo’s Part II
Part II of the series on dynamic duo’s of the NCISAA.
Jairus Hamilton and Qon Murphy (Cannon School)-Hamilton is a forward with a long wingspan at nearly 6’10”, quick off the floor and can move laterally very fast and has a college ready body. Possesses a strong handle for his size and is an above average rebounder. He recently picked up a offer from Florida State. It will be hard to get Hamilton out of North Carolina for his college basketball. I think his recruitment will be a battle between Duke, NC State and North Carolina. Murphy is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who has good size at the guard position, can knock down mid-range shots or attack the basket and finish at the rim. He was recently offered by IUPUI and will visit this fall.
Nate Hinton and Quan McCluney (Gaston Day)-No player had the summer that Nate Hinton put together for Team Loaded NC. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard went from a mid-major ceiling to a must-have high-major recruit in a matter of months. As athletic as a player as you will find, Hinton can score in a variety of ways and brings a level of high-energy to the game. He has a great motor that goes and goes. He picked up offers from Indiana, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Georgetown, Maryland and Cincinnati among others. He recently went on an official visit to Houstonand will likely decide in the next few months. McCluney is a 6-foot-6 small forward who has offers from East Carolina, St. Bonaventure, Charlotte, La Salle, Georgia Southern, Tulsa, College of Charleston, Longwood and Towson. He was injured during the second part of the second live period this summer and didn’t get to show coaches what he can do. Hinton and McCluney should have plenty of games to show coaches what they may have missed over the summer as Gaston Day is a favorite in the 2-A NCISAA classification.
