Mars Hill University Elite Camp
Head Coach Vic Finora is in his first full season at Mars Hill University and his first elite camp had some of the best talent in the area on campus at the Madison County schools’ campus. A great job from assistant coaches Will White and Alex Biggerstaff helped bring in some of the talent for the event. Here are some of the top performers from the camp today.
Reggie Raynor of New Life Christian had a strong showing at MHU Elite Camp. Athletic, strong guard that gets off the floor in a hurry.
Jake Smith of Enka HS improved in every aspect playing with Team South Carolina over summer. Great catch and shoot player. Shot lights out.
Dantre Harvey of Western Alamance HS is a smooth left-handed scoring wing. Made a lot of shots and had some crowd pleasing plays at the rim.
Reggie Walton of New Life Christian was one of the best players at camp today. Scored from all over the floor. Strong with the ball in hands.
Reggie WaltonGreyson Collins of Caldwell Academy showed an ability to facilitate with the ball in his hands, great vision, plays at the rim and scores it.
Skylar McKinney of McDowell HS has good size at the guard position. Has a high IQ and sees over smaller guards. Scoring mentality.
2018 6’9 F Ben Bowen of South Stokes HS was an impressive big today. Long arms, gets good position down low, grabs rebounds, blocks shots.
Max Spurling of Asheville Christian is a skilled, big-shouldered guard who makes the right pass/play every time the ball is in his hands.
Tai Giger of Carolina Day is sneaky athletic, is hard to guard when attacking the lane, finished with contact and finishes at the rim.
Travis Corpering of McDowell HS does a good job playing without the ball, makes strong cuts to the basket and finishes.
Big man Justice Shelton rebounded well today, showed a nice hook shot over his left shoulder that he made consistently. 6’9 F has soft touch.
