Louisiana Top 250 Expo: Top 6 Under 6 Feet
2018
Kabryn Allen 5’10 G David Thibodaux
Kabryn was one of the most efficient lead guards of the weekend. He was one of the best at breaking the defense down in the halfcourt, and was able to set up teammates with space in front of them.
Kelvin Murphy 5’10 G Port Allen
Kelvin is a bit of a combo guard, as he is just as effective on ball as he is off of it. He is an absolutely deadly shooter from the outside, and does a good job of finding creases in the defense to get his shot off,
2019
Jacoby Decker 5’8 G Bossier
It was clear al day that Decker had one goal on his mind, and it was that he was one of 2019’s absolute elite players, and when the day was over, I couldn’t help but agree. He is an absolute handful in the half-court, and no one was able to stop him from scoring all day.
2020
Jalen Cook 5’10 G Walker
When it comes to point guards for the class of 2020, these are three of the best that you are going to find, and Jalen Cook is at the top of that list. He was unstoppable going to the rim, and if you try to stop him, he is just bigger, better, and more skilled than the defense was.
Byron Joshua 5’10 G Crescent City Christian
Joshua was on the same team with fellow New Orleans point guard, Dywan Griffin, so it gave us an opportunity to see Joshua play off-ball, which we don’t get to see often, and I was surprised just how effective he was at it. Of course, he was still just as shifty as ever, and he wasn’t afraid to leave the defense in the dust.
Jahmal Byers 5’8 G Ville Platte
Byers might not be as well known as those other two guards, but he definitely deserves to be in the top point guards of 2020 conversation. He is a force getting to goal, and can finish at a high level when he gets there. He can also pass effectively when attacking, and when he is locked in, he is one of the best on ball defenders in the state.
