Class of 2019 Best Of July
The month of July is always an interesting month for prospects as they all have the opportunity to play in front of a large amount of college coaches, these are a few of the players that stood out in July in the 2019 class.
Team Felton 2019 Forward Greg Gantt: One of the more versatile players in the class, Gantt has seen his recruitment really heat up over the past months. You have to love the multiple ways that he can impact the game, he can score the ball inside and out, facilitate and defend multiple positions. When he’s consistently aggressive he is a player that catches the eye of college coaches at the highest level.
Game Elite 2019 Guard Josh Nickelberry: Although he ended the month with an injury to his hand, he was very impressive in the spring as well as in July. He’s a youngster that can score the ball in numerous ways, especially knocking down the trey ball and finishing above the rim when he attacks the paint. His recruitment has really heated up and it will be interesting to see which college program is fortunate enough to sign him.
Flight 22 Guard John Michael Wright: Wright has been one of the most improved that I have seen over the last few years, he’s gone from being a player that played sparingly on his high school team to an All-State guard and a D1 prospect. He doesn’t back down from anybody on the court and gets off the floor very quickly, he has a strong work ethic and is always looking to get better.
Team Felton 2019 Wing Joey Baker: Joey is one of the top players in the country and he played well enough through July to keep his ranking and respect. He’s fundamentally sound and keeps the game simple by not dribbling when its not needed, he’s highly efficient off he catch when shooting the ball and is very athletic.
Word Of God Wing Jamal King: One of the most slept on players in the state and possibly on the East Coast, King is now taking his talents to Word Of God Christian Academy. At 6’5 with a very strong frame, King is a player that can score with ease, he’s had countless 30+ and 40+ point games.
