Best of the Summer: Class of 2020
Northside-Pinetown Guard Rashod Smith: Personally I haven’t had the opportunity to see this young man play live but our guy Tony Bruton has kept me updated about him and sent plenty of his footage, to day I’m impressed would be an understatement. He’s smaller in height but he’s quick, athletic, can score the ball at a very high level and is only going to get better in the upcoming years.
New Life Christian Wing Reggie Raynor: Raynor has transferred in to NLCA and has taken on more of a leadership role almost instantly. He can score the ball from inside and out and has very high potential, when he’s fully locked in, he is a player that catches the eye of college coaches. The key for Raynor is stayed mentally locked in no matter what is going on and bring the same effort every time he steps on the floor.
Westover HS Forward Traymond Willis-Shaw: One of the players with a very high amount of potential in his game, he’s already 6’6 with a very long wingspan. He can run the floor well, finish above the rim, block shots and is a player that seems to be a very wiling learner. Playing under Coach Stackhouse at Westover, who does a great job of developing his players, then we already know that he will the coaching he needs and will have a chance to be special.
Athens Drive Guard Lawrence Frost: We were introduced to Frost a year ago at the Elite 50 Middle school camp, he dominated throughout that event and had a very good freshman season campaign. He has nice upper body strength and has a natural knack for scoring the ball in a hurry and in bunches. Don’t be surprised to see his game continue to progress over the upcoming years and his college interest and recruitment to pick up.
