Adrian Elliot is back!
As well all know, injuries are a part of playing sports. We watch every year and see players from: College, HS and NBA levels getting injured and to be honest there is truly no way to avoid it. It has affected players draft stock when they turn pro and in some situations it ends careers. For a youngster that wants to be recruited the worst time to get injured is during the summer during live period, and that is exactly what happened to Adrian Elliot.
Coming off an impressive spring he was looking forward to competing during the July live period with the Fayetteville Magic 16U squad. He had played extremely well in the local events leading up to July but then in late June he was injured and was forced to miss tournaments and Team Camps. The injury continued to keep him sidelined which means he missed just about all of the Live Period, he finally got cleared just prior to the final Live Period of July and got the opportunity to play at Big Shots Myrtle Beach in the final weekend.
In their first game that they were scheduled to play in, the opposing team forfeited so he had to continue to wait through the remainder of the day to finally get his opportunity. However once he stepped back on the floor and played you could see all the things that made him special had not gone away as he did not miss a beat. In his first game back he dropped 32 Points leading the Fayetteville Magic to a victory, after the game we got to talk to Adrian about his injury.
Q: So what was the diagnosis of your injury?
Adrian: It was a groin strain.
Q: How difficult was it not playing?
Adrian: It was very hard not being able to play and win games with my team.
Q: How does it feel to be back on the floor with your teammates?
