2018 NCISAA Dynamic Duo’s (Free)
The class of 2018 in North Carolina is loaded. It is one of the most talented from top to bottom that I have covered in 10-plus years. What is interesting about this class is that on the top teams in the state, there are multiple players that compliment “the guy” on each team. In this article PrepHoop’s Justin Byerly takes a look at the “Dyanmic Duo’s” in the NCISAA.
Coby White and Elijah McAdden (The Greenfield School)- White has committed to Roy Williams and North Carolina. He is the reigning North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. McCadden is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who has offers from Wake Forest, Quinnipiac, Appalachian State, Hofstra, Charlotte, Old Dominion, James Madison and Western Kentucky.
Devon Dotson and Trey Wertz (Providence Day )– Dotson is one of the most coveted point guard prospects in the country. He will take a official visit to Kansas on August 25th and has already officially visited Arizona. It is being speculated that Florida will also get an official visit in the near future. His counterpart is shooting guard Trey Wertz, one of the top shooters in the state. He has picked up offers from Boston College, Stanford, LaSalle, Rice, Charlotte, and Santa Clara among others.
Jaylen Hoard and Aaron Wiggins (Wesleyan Christian Academy)– Hailing from France, Hoard is a top-15 national recruit. He has a good frame and build for the wing spot, has a quick first-step and can get off of the floor in a hurry. Can score off the dribble or knock down the set shot. He has offers from NC State, Washington, Drexel, California and Southern California. Wiggins, a 6-foot-6 wing has committed to Maryland and will play under head coach Mark Turgeon. Wiggins is ranked in the top-150 national Recruits by PrepHoops.
John Newman and Will Dillard (Greensboro Day)– Newman, a top 5 recruit in the state committed to Clemson and head coach Brad Brownell over the summer. Dillard and Newman teamed up on the Nike circuit with Team CP3, and know each other’s game well. Dillard is as athletic as they come, he is a skilled defender and holds a offer from Wake Forest along with a handful of mid-major programs.
Jomaru Brown and Immanuel Bates (Northwood Temple)- Brown recently transferred in to the Fayetteville school after spending his first three at Southern Durham High School. He is a big, strong guard who knows how to score the basketball. He was recently offered by Evansville. Bates is a skilled big man who recently announced his decision to cut his list to Depaul, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Louisville and Xavier.
