Westover Team Camp: Championship Game Standouts
New Life Christian 2019 Guard Devontae Gathers: Gathers was outstanding for the New Life Christian squad, I lost count of how many blocked shots he came up with but it was a very high amount. He finished above the rim offensively and was active on the glass providing extra possessions for his team. JUCO programs should be keeping an eye on him, although he is still finding his way and developing he can be a nice player in due time.
New Life Christian 2020 Reggie Raynor: The Semis and Championship game was almost a coming out party for Raynor for the fans at Westover, he played the game at a very high level, stayed aggressive and showed why he is a name to remember in the 2020 NC class. He had his fair share of highlight plays including a baseline poster dunk that made the entire crowd get out of their seats.
Pine Forest HS 2019 Forward Andrew Miller: He’s a knock down shooter that helped bring Pine Forest back into the game after a rather large deficit. He has decent size for a high school forward and brings a high level of consistent energy.
Clinton HS 2018 Guard Kris Williams: Kris is a problem!!!! College coaches should be keeping a very close eye on this young man without a doubt, he has a very mature game and a natural ability to score the ball. He shot the ball from three point land very consistently and used his upper body to finish inside the paint and around the rim. He’s also a gifted passer, which showed with the amount of assist he came up with finding teammates in the right spots.
Fairmont HS 2018 Guard Cory Addison: He didn’t have his best showing offensively but still found ways to impact the game without a doubt. He’s what we call a typical Fairmont guard, a defensive specialist that can lock down on top offensive talent.
Grays Creek 2019 Wing Jason Porter: One of the main reasons why Gray’s Creek stayed competitive throughout, he scored the ball well from inside and out. He’s not a player that had a big time season last year stat wise so we were pleased to see the improvement.
