Stock Riser Report: Nate Hinton
There has been quite a few youngsters that have truly helped their stock during the spring and July live periods this year, we have seen players go from being a small level recruit to a top prospect in the state as well as top players in the state moving up nationally in the rankings. One player that has really improved his stock in a major way is Team Loaded Guard Nate Hinton as he has been on an absolute tear and has turned plenty of heads.
What makes him special?
Initially when I saw Nate play a few years back he was playing the SF position and was still raw, he was very athletic and you could see the potential but he still had some polishing that needed to be done. Well he has put in the work over the past year and some change and has developed into a very nice guard prospect. Standing at 6’5/6’6 and spending a nice amount of time at the PG spot you can see why colleges at the high major level have fallen in love with him. His ball handling skills are much improved, his shooting stroke on his jumper is much more fluid and his leadership on the floor is very good. He’s a good teammate and not a selfish player, he seems to enjoy making the extra pass to a teammate as much as he enjoys scoring the ball or throwing down a dunk.
Recruitment
The amount of offers he has received in the month of July has been crazy! Schools such as: Illinois, Clemson, Pitt, Miami, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Maryland, Indiana and many more. His official count for offers for the month of July so far is 17 but the total of amount of offers he now holds is up to 33 scholarship offers. With him being a Class of 2018 he will have the decision of cutting down his list soon to decide what school he will want to attend but for now he continues to pull in offers.
