Recruiting Riser: Issa Muhammad
One of the top players in Georgia for the 2019 class is Georgia Elite forward Issa Muhammad. The lengthy forward holds offers from Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Rice, Ole Miss, Florida International and UNC Charlotte already.
SCOUTING REPORT
Muhammad is a pick and pop forward who has the ability to thrive in transition. He is skilled with his back to the basket and possesses a nice jump-hook shot in the paint. He has shown he can step out and knock down the jump-shot out to the three-point line. He does a good job with getting position for rebounds and runs the floor at a high-level. He is a versatile big man and is steadily rising up many recruiting boards. Standing 6-foot-9 and weighing around the 215lb mark, Muhammad has a college ready frame and will fill his shoulders in nicely. He can handle the basketball well for a big man and uses that skill to his advantage sometimes bringing the ball up the floor in transition. The upside on this prospect is huge, he has only played one-year of competitive basketball and is already figuring it out at a high-level.
IN HIS OWN WORDS
Muhammad had this to say about his July so far, “My July has been pretty good, lots of calls and offers from colleges, the newest offers that I have are Iowa State, Florida International, and Rice University.”
His biggest improvements over the course of the past year has been his IQ for the game, he tells PrepHoops analyst Justin Byerly.
WHATS NEXT
Muhammad will finish out July working hard on his game and will take some unofficial visits to get a feel for the college basketball life. “I am planning on taking unofficial visits in California to The University of California at Berkeley and Saint Mary’s.
