Recruiting Report: Dylan Peeters (2019)
Recently debuting at No.74 in the latest installment of 2019 prospect rankings, Assumption’s 6-foot-7 forward Dylan Peeters is already due for another bump.
Size, length and versatility have Division I schools paying attention to Peeters, and it might not be too long before the Quad City Elite product has an offer to show for it.
“I’ve talked to Boise State, North Dakota, Nebraska-Omaha and UNI so far,” said Peeters.
“I think right now it’s just initial interest. They’re going to get out and see me play this summer.”
Though he has a unique ability to play several different positions, Peeters says he prefers to play from the outside-in.
“I’m like a stretch-four, so I really like to play on the wing. And I really pride myself on driving and getting to the hoop and finishing. But also stepping out and hitting 3s, and then dishing out to my teammates,” said Peeters.
“And defensively, I like to get up and get rebounds, and then push it up the floor on the break.”
Peeters’ sophomore season with the Knights went well, he averaged 7.6 points on an efficient 54 percent shooting, and nabbed 4.6 rebounds per game for good measure.
“I thought I played pretty well, I was the sixth-man and came off the bench. It was about coming in and doing what I could do to help our team win,” said Peeters. Â
“I’m probably going to be the go-to guy next year. I really want to just help the team get down to State again.”
Bur before he embarks on his junior season, he’ll have a big summer ahead with Quad City Elite’s 16U squad. The same team that Bettendorf’s rising star DJ Carton plays with.
“We did pretty well in the spring, I think we went 15-3. We have really good chemistry and have some really good players,” said Peeters.
“This summer, we just want to get out there, win as many games as we can, and play well together.”
Peeters has some personal goals for the summer too. Â
“I really just want to get out there and try and get an offer and play my best,” he said. “Maybe get a little more attention leading into next school season, and then next AAU season.”
