Player Interview: Lucas Lehrman (2018)
Lucas Lehrman – 6’9” | PF | Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger High School
Player Interview: Prep Hoops Indiana Senior Showcase
Lucas Lehrman stepped aside this past weekend to do a quick interview while he had some time between shifts on the floor. Lucas is one of the best big men in the Class of 2018 and proved that at the Prep Hoops Indiana Senior Showcase at Fishers. He’s had a great spring so far and is looking to continue turning college coaches’ heads in July.
Lehrman plays his AAU ball with Spiece Indy Heat Red 2018 and attends Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger where he plays his high school ball. With a 6’9” frame, he showed that he can guard out on the perimeter at the showcase as well. His jumper is looking more consistent and he is a threat from deep. Lucas is currently receiving interest from a multitude of programs at the NAIA level but is looking to see what July brings.

Q: How has this summer been going playing with Spiece?
A: “It’s been going pretty good. Fun group to play with in a good program.”
Q: What are some things that you’ve been doing for this team and what do you plan on working on heading into July?
A: “I plan on working inside more. Getting more post touches and being effective around the basket. My mid-range jumper has been pretty consistent.”
Q: How did the month of June go with Dwenger?
A: “It went pretty well actually. We only lost a few games and had some guys step up and play well. Smithey and Reith are two players that need to play well for us this season. It was nice seeing Lytle (Brenden) play up with us as a freshman and control the ball.”
Q: What’re some things you’re looking forward to heading into your senior year?
A: “Competing with my guys for the last time. I want to win games this year and show all of the things that I can do to help my team win. Both offense and defense.”
Q: How is the recruiting process going? Interest, offers visits?
A: “It’s been going really good. Been in contact with a lot of NAIA Schools. A couple DIII and DII. Marian and Manchester have been in contact the most here recently.”
