PHI Senior Showcase: Eric’s Post Standouts
This past weekend, we brought in 90 of the top 2018’s from around the state of Indiana. Together, with more than 30 college programs in the gym, we showcased that talent and we had a great day. When looking back, there were some definite standouts. Today, I detail my favorite posts from the event.
Darian Porch (Ind. Pike) – Porch is starting to make the same adjustments as his teammate from last year in Isiah James. He’s starting to stretch the floor more and knock down open threes. It was about this time last year that James really took off. If Porch can show he can do that as well, he should really jump onto the radar. He was really good this past weekend doing just that. Looked more comfortable on the wing with much more productivity.
Miles Tracy (Cardinal Ritter) – Tracy has really come onto our radar in the last month and it was good to see him against really good competition this weekend. He’s on the smaller side but he’s tough and bouncy with a motor and good academics. He’s a guy that should really be on a lot of radars heading into July as one of the more asked about players this weekend.
Lucas Lehrman (Bishop Dwenger) – I think by now, Lehrman has proved himself to be if not the best, then right there as the best small college big man in the state. He has the frame and scoring ability to really do some damage down low. At 6’8, his frame is going to add a ton of strength and he’s proven that he can reasonably defend face-up four men which gives him a little more flexibility. Better have offers by the end of this month.
James Burns (Lafayette Jefferson) – I had two big standouts, Dylan Penn and James Burns. Burns looked stellar all day long. He’s gotten bigger and stronger and the handles have improved enough for him to make a ton of plays. He was the most asked about player heading out of the weekend as he just killed it as a bouncy four-man. If he can back that up with his play this first weekend, he’s going to turn some heads with his level of recruitment.
Freeman Brou (Northeastern) – Freeman is a guy that has improved and gained some attention in the past couple months. He’s a solid power forward that has some versatility and a good amount of strength on him. Is a pretty good fit for some DII programs that want to be able to switch a ton. Was really solid this weekend and should start to see an increase in interest throughout this month.
