NOE Showcase stock risers 2019
Here are the top stock risers from the Class of 2019 from Saturday’s NOE Spotlight at Lima High School.
Gage McGuire (Coldwater)- Saturday was the 1st time I’ve seen McGuire play, but he definitely impressed me and put on a great first impression. Being a 6’6 forward, Gage showed great range especially from the wing. His jump shooting makes him such a weapon because his height makes it difficult to defend. Add his great rebounding talent and Gage is a total weapon that will dominate for years to come.
Alek West (Sylvania Northview)- Alek showed great talent for a PG. He showed great court vision and found ways to get his teammates the ball. Add his aggressiveness on the boards and you have a physical guard that dominates on both ends of the floor. West also showed great defense on the perimeter.
Jacob Plantz (Genoa)- One of my favorite 2019 prospects from the Showcase, Jacob is a physical forward that showed he wasn’t afraid to play like a big man. Defensively, he defended post players extremely well and wasn’t afraid to attack post players when he had the ball. Overall, he is a prospect I am looking forward to watching as he continues to develop.
Emanuel Jones (Sexton High)- Emanuel possesses great speed that he showcased well on Saturday. His lateral speed was fantastic and he showed great ability locking down the perimeter defensively. What really surprised me about Emanuel was how well he rebounded for a guard. There were times he dominated against power forwards and centers. He’s another name to keep an eye on moving forward.
