Kingdom Summer League stock risers
One of the hardest parts of summer league basketball is with most players being on vacation, some teams miss certain players on certain nights. As a result, different players have big games on any given night. This is what Michael Roe, director of Kingdom Sports Center in Franklin told me about the talent at their summer league this year. Tri-County North pulled a huge victory over Valley View 51-26 in the championship game to secure the league title. TCN’s duo of seniors led them throughout the league and gave Dayton a reason to keep an eye on the Panthers moving forward.
Last month, we told you about Dillon McCullough (2018), TCN’s new point guard who transferred over from Tri-Village. Kingdom’s Summer League was a HUGE success for McCullough as he showed he is ready to lead the Panthers come November. Dillon averaged an astonishing 23 points and 12 assists per game. McCullough was already known for distributing the ball extremely well, but averaging 20+ points per game moving forward will make him a player to watch moving forward. Although he is unranked in Prep Hoops rankings, I expect to see Dillon make an appearance very soon.
Fellow senior Gabe Brinson (2018) also made his name known during this summer league. Brinson finished with an average of 20 points and 11 rebounds per game. Between Brinson’s returning leadership and McCullough’s incredible talent, the Panthers have a legitimate chance of being contenders not only in the CCC, but also in their district come tournament play. Gabe is a new name to Prep Hoops, but will be a name to keep an eye on moving forward.
