ECI Team Camp: Standout Players C/O 2018 & 2019
Leesville Road 2019 Guard Jalen Benjamin: One of the Point Guards in the state for his class, Jalen has a very mature game and a nice IQ for making the right play. In their matchup with Richlands he was easily the best player on the floor on both ends, scoring the ball with ease while forcing turnovers and coming up with steals.
Kinston HS 2019 Guard Damian Dunn: The next guard in line when it comes to big time prospects to come out of Kinston HS, he can score the ball well and when he’s locked is a very fun player to watch. Before much longer I truly believe the high major programs will be making that trip once again to Kinston HS.
Kinston HS 2019 Forward Dericko Williams: One of the best athletes that I saw throughout the weekend, when you combine his athletic ability then you have a player that is very impactful on the court. He’s still somewhat raw but he’s constantly getting better, you have to love how he uses his athleticism on both ends of the floor.
Mount Pleasant 2018 Wing Trey Barnhardt: A solid overall player and prospect, he showed some flashes of how good he can be. He’s fundamentally sound and doesn’t try to do anything outside of his skill level and what he’s comfortable with. A gifted passer, with a solid frame and a nice midrange game, he had multiple college coaches showing interest.
North Mecklenburg 2019 Forward Jae’Lyn Withers: This young man is an absolutely special talent, he does a bit of everything on the floor: he rebounds, blocks shots, scores from all over the court, and finishes above the rim. At 6’8 and 190 pounds he has the look of the Brandon Ingram, Kevin Durant , long scoring wings , he has a ways to go be mentioned with those guys skill wise but overall he’s got a chance to be special.
