Dayton’s Top 5 Double-Double machines
Many of Dayton’s top scorers also excel in other areas of the floor. Here are the Top 5 Double-Double machines in Dayton.
James Anderson (2018)- Anderson recorded a double-double in all but 6 of his games last year. Averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds per game, James is an absolute animal for Troy Christian. At 6’8 and 270 lbs, very few players can body up with him on either ends of the floor, which makes him extremely difficult to prepare for on scouting reports.
Tristan Backas (2018)- One of the top players on Monroe’s team last season, Tristan will be a huge piece for the Hornets next season and will be looked to for leadership. Averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds, Backas plays physical in the paint but can also step back and shoot from beyond the arc. One of the most underrated players in Dayton, Tristan is a player to keep an eye on.
Duncan Hall (2019)- Duncan is a monster in the paint. Although not known for his scoring, he scored enough to average a double-double one year ago. His 12 points and 10 rebounds were some of the best stats in the GWOC last year. A verbal commit to Louisville on the baseball diamond, Duncan may still play basketball for Miamisburg, but if he does not, it will create a huge hole for the Vikings.
C.J. Napier (2019)- Napier was averaging a double-double for most of the season last year, but ended with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Standing at 6’4, C.J. was an aggressive rebounder and led the GCL in that category. His ability to score up to 20 points in a game makes him very capable of recording a double-double on any given night. Napier is a name to keep an eye on moving forward.
L’Christian Smith (2018)- Averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds, Smith was a huge help to the Warriors on both ends of the floor. His physicality and athleticism makes him hard to guard offensively and even more difficult to outrebound. Defensively, Smith can guard all 5 positions making him a very flexible yet effective defender.
