Big Shots Charlotte: Standout Big Men
Standout big men Immanuel Bates (Team Felton), Javarzia Belton (Big Shots Elite) & Kadin Shedrick (Garner Road) turned heads at Big Shots Live.
Javarzia Belton – 6’9” Big Shots Elite- 16U (Class of 2019)
Big Shots got a huge boost with the addition of Belton. He’s a 6’9” power forward that gets up the floor well, rebounds the ball at a high level, defends the rime and finishes strong inside. Even if his shot is blocked, it doesn’t phase him. He’s coming right back for more. Also an underrated screener that does an excellent job sealing off his man. Makes life much easier for his teammates.
Immanuel Bates – 6’10” Team Felton – 17U – (Class of 2018)
Few big men have raised their stock like Bates has. His performance at Big Shots Charlotte was an indication to why. He possesses unteachable length in addition to his 6’10” frame, has solid defensive timing and slams the ball down with authority at every opportunity offensively. Showed no fear against any matchup he was presented with, Wherever he ends up in college, he’ll immediately improve the defense. A very reliable anchor defensively with solid offensive potential.
Kadin Shedrick – 6’9” Garner Road -16U- (Class of 2019)
Intriguing. Shedrick possesses all of the tools you love to see from a young big man. He has a solid frame that looks very capable of putting on more muscle in the next few years, has length and very good athleticism. It’s just a matter of when he’ll put it all together before he begins to blow up in recruiting circles. Has a good IQ for the game, knocks down mid-range jumpers in pick & pop situations and is an excellent shot blocker. Does a great job of sprinting in transition to put pressure on opposing big men. Appears to be very coachable. One to keep an eye on.
