Wofford Team Camp Standouts
Wofford College in Sprartanburg, South Carolina is holding their team camp this week on campus. Teams from all over the Southeast are participating in the team camp atmosphere. Here is a look at some of the standouts from today.
Isaac Suffren 6’3, 2018 guard (Providence Day)-One of the most athletic players in the state regardless of class, Suffren is a force rebounding the basketball even at 6-foot-3 with his athletic ability. He gets rebounds that he shouldn’t be able to get. He is a great leaper and can finish in traffic at the rim.
Trey Wertz 6’5, 2018 guard (Providence Day)-Wertz has a offer from Clemson, and he can play at that level. He is a big-time shooter and can knock it down steadily once he gets going. He is long and lean, and has the ability to score off the dribble. His mid-range game was on point today and scored 16 points in a win over Neuse Christian that went to double OT.
Maurice Wilcox 6’0, 2018 guard
Maurice Wilcox(Neuse Christian)-One of the best shooting performances that I have seen this spring. Wilcox went off for somewhere upwards of 40 points against Providence Day in the afternoon game. He knocked down three-point shot after three-point shot from as soon as he crossed half-court. He can score off the dribble and can attack the basket.
Trey Smith 5’10, 2019 guard (Landrum HS)-Smith is a player that has a high IQ when it comes to basketball. He is great at moving without the ball and is lethal with the ball in his hands. He has been playing varsity basketball since the 8th grade and he understands the game as well as anyone I have seen at his age. He is a knock-down shooter who can get streaky from the outside. He is a good defender who can keep his man in front.
Foster Bridges 6’6, 2018 forward (Landrum HS)-Bridges is another high basketball IQ player that knows what to do in most situations. He is long and athletic, and can get to the rim. He has a nice shot from deep to mid-range and can score consistently.
