University Of Utah Team Camp Top Performers
The University of Utah hosts the largest high school basketball team camp in the state of Utah. I was able to watch on day 2 of the camp and there were several outstanding performers.
Isaac Johnson 6’10 2019 (American Fork) is one of the best players in the class of 2019 in the entire country. Johnson currently holds offers from Stanford, BYU, Utah, Utah State, and several others. When I watched him he hit several three pointers and he also was able to knock some mid-range jumpers of off a couple dribbles.
Matt Van Komen 7’4 2019 (Pleasant Grove) he is one of the top recruits out of the state of Utah and recently received an offer from Big 12 powerhouse Baylor. Van Komen continues to get used to his body and his game is becoming even more fluid. He was dominate anytime he got the ball inside of 10 feet and defensively he was able to block shots and alter many more.
Tyson Garff 6’4 2019 (Davis) has a very smooth game as he can play both of the guard positions. He has a great looking shot and is able to get it off whenever he wants. Garff is much approved getting to basket and finishing over defenders.
Mikey Frazier 6’9 2018 (East) he has lost quite a bit of weight and looked much more possible when I watched him. Frazier had added some back to the basket moves that worked well. He was also able to knock down the outside jumper when he had time. Frazier is getting recruited by several low D1s and some mid-major D1’s.
Camron Chism 5’11 2019 (Bountiful) shot the ball really well during the team camp. He has been playing really well for his club team the Utah Mountain Stars. I think he will have a breakout year as a junior and Bountiful should be in contention for a state title which is where they usually are.
Rich Stucki 6’9 2018 (Davis) has really come along way with his skill set and adding muscle to his thin frame. I was impressed that he didn’t get bullied down low and was able to guard opposing post players. I like his skill set as he is able to play outside and inside on the offensive side. Stucki is a D2 prospect or would be a good player at the juco level where he can continue to develop.
