Top 250 Expo: Updates on the top 2018s

The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo drew 3,500 plus kids to 25 different events around the nation last fall and some of the top talent from those events continue to play at a high level. Here is the latest on some of those top 2018 players.
Virginia point guard Rasir Bolton was rated the top player overall at the top 25 Expo locations last fall. The Team Loaded (VA) talent was just offered by Pitt this week and has recently taken visits to Penn State and Pitt. Bolton has pushed Team Loaded into the national to 25 a time or two this year and have the talent to have a strong July. Bolton continues to have teams like VCU and St. Joseph’s after him hard plus the list of calls has included offered schools like Clemson, V Tech, and Cincinnati as well as calls coming in from NC State, Texas, Miami, Villanova, Seton Hall, Kansas, and others.
Long wing Daylen Kountz was the second ranked 2018 at the Expo events and his most visit was seeing Wichita State a couple weeks back. Kountz is playing with the Colorado Hawks and has a nice handful of major conference offers but at this point Colorado, Wyoming, and the Shockers are showing the most interest.
Six-foot-2 Point guard Xavier Johnson out of Virginia is quickly becoming one of the hottest point guard prospects nationally. The Team Takeover guard just grabbed a Washington offer who joined Georgia Tech, Nebraska, NC State, and Providence in extending to Johnson. Xavier is averaging 14.2 points, 3.5 boards, and 2.5 assists a game shooting almost 53 percent from the floor in EYBL play.
Oklahoma power forward Jaycson Bereal was just offered by Tulane and is taking visits to San Diego State and Boise State this week. Bereal, our fourth rated player from the fall Expos across the country, has also earned offers from Tulsa, Oral Roberts, Missouri State, and others. Bereal plays with Oklahoma Run PWP on the UAA circuit and he’s averaging nine points and five boards a contest.
Arizona 6-foot-2 guard Jaden Lee’s spring play has brought scholarship offers from Northern Arizona, Prairie View A&M, Nevada, and Texas-Rio Grande Valley. Lee is one of the top rated players in Arizona and our fifth ranked junior from the Expo.
Team CP25 6-foot-7 big Caleb Edwards out of Florida has been giving his team double-doubles which is why he’s grabbed a recent offer from High Point and Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, and Samford are teams that have offered and continue to follow.
The top ranking junior from Illinois that went to the Expo was DeAndre Heckard who is coming off a fantastic weekend in at the Show Me Showdown. Heckard is a point guard but has explosive athletic ability. Had offers from Drake, Coppin State, and Bethume-Cookman plus he was just offered by Southern.
Iowa guard Hunter Strait is a top five 2018 in the state and has been putting up huge numbers for Team Iowa. Several D1s are in contact including Western Illinois, Air Force, Nebraska-Omaha, and South Dakota.
Michigan guard Tray Jackson has Detroit and Eastern Michigan following him consistently. Tray is a 6-foot-7 forward. Jackson is a 6-foot-7 stretch four who plays with G3 Grind and is a versatile player that kids love to compete with. Has the talent to be a many offered low major/mid major guy.
Two of the best bigs at the Expo were 6-foot-10 Mick Sullivan (Illinois Wolves) and 6-foot-10 Jared Hofer (Indy Heat).
