Summer League Scouting Reports: Walker 2020 Jalen Cook + 2018 duo (Video)
Walker was a 25-9 team last year and almost upset No. 3 Natchitoches Central in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs falling short 52-50. They’re looking to build on that season and they’ve been hard at work over the summer to do just that.
I got my first glimpse of the Wildcats early this month in the Woodlawn Summer League and 2020 G Jalen Cook was the first to catch my attention. A smooth 6-foot-1 guard with a sweet, confident shooting stroke, Cook is a constant threat from deep and knocked down 4 triples in Walker’s comfortable win over Denham Springs.
Cook is also capable of penetrating and putting pressure on the defense, which helped open lanes for 2018 duo Darius Hampton and Dalton Moore. Hampton gives Walker another aggressive guard that likes to make his living in the paint and Moore gave the Wildcats even more space to work with his ability to make shots.
2018 F Jalen Perkins is also sure to be a big part of the team in 2017-18 and here’s a look at Walker’s guard trio against Denham Springs:
