St. Francis HS was very, very impressive this weekend at the University of Maryland Team games at the Xfinity Center in College Park, MD, home of the Maryland Maryland Terrapins basketball team.
The Panthers won the Championship defeating a very tough and underrated Wise HS team from Prince Georges County, MD, 55-46. In the semifinals SFA defeated a powerful Gonzaga HS team from Washington, DC on a tip at he buzzer from Panther 6’8″ 2019 center Koran Moore. SFA has an excellent blend of outsdie shooting and inside play. The Panthers have great guards who can handle, facilitate, defend and St. Frances bigs can score inside and are very mobile. Overall SFA fits the Baltimore HS pro-type with a very aggressive and hard nosed style of play. University of Maryland Assistant Coach Bino Ranson says, The Panthers are as tough as nails”. Coach Ranson is very familiar with SFA since he Coached the Panthers for 2 years. Despite a down season last year and a very misleading record of 13-17, SFA defeated Mt. Joseph (38-4) who was one of the best teams in the nation, John Carroll HS featuring Immanuel Quickley (ranked #10 nationally) & (Montez Mathis ranked in top 100), highly rated Morgan HS from Chicago, Patterson HS ( MD State 2A Champions @ 26-3 featuring Top 6o Marvin Price, 2019). There was not a team in Baltimore that wanted to face the dangerous SFA 2016-17 Panther team last year.
Additionally, The very young Panthers, played a national schedule and overall had 9 losses by 3 points or less. In the previous season SFA posted a 30-11 record and 2016 guards Kurk Lee had a great freshmen season at Drexel and Daquan Bracey had fantastic year at Louisiana Tech with both players starters as true freshmen. This past season outstanding guard Eral Pen, signed with Long Island University. In our opinion the BCL or Baltimore Catholic League in which SFA is a member and the WCAC (Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) in which Gonzaga HS plays, are 2 of the top 5 high School basketball conferences in the USA.
In national high school football the BCL/MIAA is rated # 8 in the nation and the WCAC #4 by Max Preps. This coming season the St. Frances football will be ranked in the top 10 nationally in the preseason polls and are now a gridiron powerhouse.
The St. Frances Academy basketball team has many fantastic players who are great basketball recruits led by Head Coach Nick Myles
& Assistant Coach Bernie Vaughn.
Listed below are some the SFA players who excelled over the weekend for which we will be providing Recruiting Reports this month:
Koran Moore, 6’9″, C/PF, 2018.
Koran is a powerful big man who can score and rebound in the post, but very mobile. He is legit D1 recruit and Koran has the potential to be a top 200 ranked player. He already holds several D1 offers.

Ace Baldwin can drive to the rim and finish, facilitate, a very solid shooter and very shifty in offensive game. He is an outstanding college prospect, can play tough on ball defense and possesses a very high basketball IQ.

Jordan Toles, 6’2.5″ WG, 2020.
Jordan is well known on the national scene and the super explosive WG could easily be ranked in the top 40 players in the nation for 2020. In our opinion Jordan is already high major recruit. Jordan can shoot, defend, and finish at the rim with powerful high rising dunks.
Detwan Montague, 6’8, F,2021.
Detwan impressed us very much this weekend displaying excellent court awareness, mobility and toughness despite being an incoming freshmen. This weekend Detwan was a key contributor for SFA and his future is very, very bright.
Elijah Epps, 6’3″ G, 2018.
Elijah Epps can do stuff a stat sheet. He can drain the 3, score in close, rebound and play tough defense. Last season Eijah led St. Fracnes to huge win orver top ranked Mt. St. Joseph converting on a a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left to force overtime. Epps finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
Rajeir Jones, 6’3″, WG, 2019
Rajeir is another excellent college prospect and at 6’3″ with a long wingspan he excels in attacking the rim in transition, rebounding and hitting the open shot. Rajeir brings high energy, works very hard on both ends of the court. He has high interest from numerous D1 schools.

Jordan is another highly regarded Panther and is very solid all around player with great intelligence. He can take it to the rim with a very quick first step or drain a 3, and is capable of big scoring games. Currently Jordan has offers from UMBC and Sienna.
Eyabi Anoma, 6’6″, F, 2018.
Eayabi is a huge force on both sides of the ball in rebounding. Also, he can score inside the paint and having great playing for Team Rebel on the Grassroots circuit. Eyabi is ranked #55 in our 2018 rankings for 2018 which in our opinion has him as a D1 basketball recruit. Additionally, Eyabi is an elite national recruit in football, ranked as high as the #2 player in the nation overall at weak-side defensive end. Almost every school in that nation is recruiting him, such as Alabama and Maryland.
Eric Turner, 6’5″, F, 2018.
Eric is a talented WF who is ranked #79 in our overall 2018 player rankings. He is very powerful and a well rounded ball player who can score from all 3 levels and rebound.
