Recruiting Report: Allin Blunt (2018)
Allin Blunt, a class of 2018 forward at Gonzaga, has been one of the most improved players we’ve seen in the last six months. After a strong start to the spring with Maryland 3D, Blunt has made a significant impact with his high school squad in summer league play.
“I would describe my game as versatile. I say this because I could make plays from the post and I can also take my defender outside and do the same,” Blunt explained. “I would say one thing I do that could be underrated is how I get my teammates involved through communication and energy on and off the bench. It helps them get into the flow of the game, and it produces positive results.”
At 6’6, Blunt is able to do a variety of things on both ends of the floor. He’s a capable shooter out to the three point arc from the catch, and generally makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. In recent months, Blunt has worked hard in anticipation of an increased workload in his final high school campaign. What is the most improved aspect of his game?
“Definitely my conditioning and footwork. This is definitely the best shape I’ve been in since I arrived at Gonzaga,” said Blunt. “My ball handling is definitely what I need to work on next and I feel like that would make me a more complete player.”
Right now, Blunt is receiving interest from schools of all levels. At the D3 level: NYU, Goucher, Catholic, and Randolph Macon. D2’s Catawba, and Bloomsburg. D1’s Colgate, Holy Cross, and Lafayette. What can one of these schools expect from Blunt at their program?
“I would bring a contribution on both the offensive and defensive end, and I would be able to get other players involved as well. Just by playing my game I feel like that will bring positives not just for me, but for my team.”
